Kathleen began working as the Preschool Director at Aldersgate in 2010. She spent 2 years prior to that working as the Assistant Director. She has a Master’s degree in counseling from Marymount University and worked with children and adolescents in a psychiatric hospital for many years. Prior to that time, she worked in preschools and daycare centers. She is also a member of the Aldersgate church family and has two girls in the CV School District.
Teacher, Birds class (4/5 yr. olds)
Karen has been teaching at Aldersgate Preschool since 2003. She supported her husband's 30 year US Air Force Career, and was a
stay-at-home mom to raise her two children. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Each day Karen looks forward to the opportunity to explore, discover, and share the love of Jesus with her students. Mrs. ‘M’ is also the 4 year-old Sunday School teacher at Aldersgate. She is well loved and respected by all the Aldersgate families!
Assistant Teacher, Yellow Birds class (4/5 yr. olds)
Licia joined the Aldersgate Preschool team in 2013. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University. Licia taught Kindergarten, Second & Third grades before she had her own 3 children and decided to stay home. She was a favorite substitute in the preschool, before we finally convinced her to come on board! She is a natural in the classroom and we are blessed to have her on our team. She has three children in the CV School District.
Assistant Teacher, Blue Birds class (4/5 yr. olds)
This is Cori’s first year with us. She has a degree in Arts and Theater from East Stroudsburg University. She held jobs in human resources and career services before having her 2 boys. Both of her boys attended preschool at Aldersgate and she started subbing in the classrooms last year. She loved it so much that it was an easy ‘yes’ when offered a job in the Birds class. Cori has a wonderful, positive energy and is a natural with children.
Teacher, Bears (3 yr. olds)
Maureen has been working at the preschool since 2004. Prior to Aldersgate, she worked at a preschool in Pittsburgh for many years. She is the lead teacher in the 3-year old class (Bears) and assistant teacher in the afternoon pre-K 4 class (Blue Fish). Maureen also provides childcare in the church nursery at Aldersgate on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. She is one busy lady with great positive energy and a passion for kids!
Assistant Teacher, Bears class (3 yr. olds)
Annette has been a member of the Aldersgate team since 2010. She has worked in daycare centers and also as a nursing assistant for several years. She spent many hours as a substitute at Aldersgate Preschool before coming on staff. She has 3 girls; her oldest was married last year, her middle daughter graduated from high school last year, and her youngest just started high school. Annette is an animal lover and often has many furry friends living at her home.
Teacher, Fish class (4/5 yr. olds)
This is Amy’s first year working at Aldersgate, although we knew her very well before hiring her. She has spent the past 2 years with us as a therapeutic support staff (TSS) for one of our preschool friends. We were thrilled when she said that she would love to teach here one day! Amy has a teaching degree from Millersville University and was a special education teacher for many years, before having her daughter. She lives in Shippensburg and has been an amazing addition to our staff.
Assistant Teacher, Red Fish class (4/5 yr. olds)
This is Jen’s 5th year working in the Fish Class. Her own daughter was in this class many years ago! Jen has a degree in Early Childhood and has worked in daycare centers/preschools. She has been both the lead teacher and assistant teacher in the Fish class. She also has a background in massage therapy. Jen has a tender heart and is wonderful with children. We are thrilled to have her on our team!
Teacher, Frogs class (3 yr. olds)
This is Rendy’s first year working at Aldersgate. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Liberty University in Communications and previously enjoyed working at Penn State Cooperative Ext. doing summer camps and school enrichment programming with children. Rendy also served as a trainer for those working with preschool aged children as the Better Kid Care Coordinator. Most recently she has been a stay at home mom with her own 3 children, all 3 of which attended Aldersgate preschool. She is energetic, loves working with kids, and is excited to be a part of the Frogs class this year!
Assistant Teacher, Frogs class (3 yr. olds)
Dawn started working at Aldersgate in the fall of 2014. She is a graduate of Messiah College with a degree in Family Studies. Dawn worked as a Parent Educator, teaching life and parenting skills, a nanny, and an intake coordinator at a counseling center before becoming a mom. She met her husband at Messiah and they have 2 boys. She brings lots of experience to the 3 year-old Frog classes, along with a calm, loving demeanor. Both her boys attended preschool here and she is a member of Aldersgate Church family.
Teacher, Ducklings class (2 ½ yr. olds)
This is Jamie’s fifth year with the 2 year olds. Her own 2 children both graduated from Aldersgate Preschool. She has a degree in Occupational Therapy and is a natural when it comes to working with children! She is a member of Aldersgate church, sings with the Praise Team and is very involved with making meals for our ‘What’s Up Wednesday” dinners. She is also an avid runner (can you say “busy”?!!) .
Assistant Teacher, Ducklings class (2 ½ yr. olds)
Karen has been at Aldersgate Preschool since her daughter was a student here in 2004. She became a full time assistant teacher with us in 2009. Karen has a degree in Business Management from Penn State. She spent many years as a Hotel and Resort Manager at a ski resort in Colorado and has a great deal of experience working with people of all ages. Karen also helps out with our afternoon lunch bunch program.
Michelle joined us in 2012 as a volunteer and we’ve been keeping her busy every since! Last year she was officially hired and we increased her workload; she assists Kathleen with preschool business and occasionally substitutes in the classroom. Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg University. She worked as a Graphic Designer prior to staying home to raise her two children. Her son is a college freshman and her daughter is a junior at CV.
Sharon has been helping out for the past 3 years. She is a graduate of William Penn high school and retired from Penn Dot after 17 years. We love having Sharon in the preschool. She has a very tender, loving heart and is a gifted poet. She often shares her wonderful poetry with us!
Jacqueline started volunteering at the preschool in 2012. She is a graduate of Temple University and loves working with children. She is very outgoing and loves to travel. One of her favorite activities is attending Broadway shows! Jacqueline brings lots of love and laughter to the preschool.
